UPDATE: OCTOBER 10, 2024

The response to supporting Western NC has been overwhelming. This is still a huge need for supplies and those willing to help clean up.

  1. If you are interested in going on a trip to help with relief efforts, please apply here.
  2. You can drop off donations at Southbridge (under the awning by the Worship Center) anytime including Sunday mornings or at any Alpaca location (through October 31).

    Below are a list of items we are collecting:

  • Contractor Trash Bags
  • Underwear (kids + adult sizes)
  • Feminine Hygiene Products
  • Non-Perishable Foods
  • Flashlights/Batteries
  • Socks
  • Diapers
  • Baby Wipes
  • Baby Formula
  • Baby Bottles

UPDATE: OCTOBER 6, 2024

Our first team has been hard at work in Watauga County. The need for people and donations is significant. We’re planning future trips now and we’ve updated our donation list:

UPDATE: SEPTEMBER 30, 2024

Thank you for the prayers, financial donations, and interest in going on a trip. Here are a couple of updates:

  1. We are expecting to send teams to assist with the clean up efforts over the next two weekends (Oct 4-7 and Oct 11-14). If you are interested in going on one of these trips, please apply here.
  2. You can drop off donations at Southbridge (under the awning by the Worship Center). All items delivered by Friday, October 4 at noon will be delivered this weekend. Below are a list of items we are collecting:

  • Tarps
  • Heavy-Duty Work Gloves
  • Contractor Trash Bags
  • Grab-And-Go Snacks (boxed)
  • Socks (new, unopened)
  • Diapers
  • Baby Wipes

Hurricane Helene caused catastrophic wind damage and flooding across Western NC. While the full extent of damage and lives lost is not fully known, we can begin to mobilize as the hands and feet of Jesus.

Here are three ways you can support Western NC:

  1. Pray for the affected communities. Pray for those trapped in their homes without food, power, and cell service. Pray for the safety and stamina of disaster relief organizations, rescue teams, and medical personnel.
  2. Make a financial donation directly to BaptistsOnMission.org. Your donations will allow more people to mobilize and more supplies to reach people in need.
  3. Go on a short-term disaster relief trip. We are collecting information to see which dates work best for the majority of people. Fill out the interest form linked below.
