Pastor Dave’s Sabbatical

Southbridge Communications   -

In 2019, the elders and pastoral leadership team at Southbridge instituted a Sabbatical Policy for the pastors of our church. This policy states pastors are eligible for a sabbatical every seventh year of continuous service. Southbridge employs several pastors who have faithfully served our church for over seven years.

Since instituting this policy, Pastor Scott, Pastor Jon, and Pastor Brad have taken well-deserved sabbaticals. Dave Morley, our Discipleship Pastor, will take a sabbatical beginning May 1 and ending June 26. We are deeply thankful for the leadership and investment that Dave and his wife, Leslie, have made in our church family over the past 7 years. During this time away, they will disconnect from their day-to-day duties at Southbridge.

The goal of this sabbatical is intentional renewal—spiritually, emotionally, and physically—so that Dave and Leslie return refreshed and refocused for the next chapter of ministry here at Southbridge. This time away will also encourage his family as they continue to pursue the Lord in all the great things He is doing in their midst. We thank God for Dave and Leslie and pray that the Lord will use this time to grow them closer to Christ and each other.

Will you join us in praying:

  • That this will be a time of rest and refreshment.

  • That God will use this time to encourage and strengthen Pastor Dave and his family.

  • For our elders, pastoral staff, and staff team as they take on additional responsibilities while Pastor Dave is on sabbatical.
