Get To Know The Staffords

The Staffords have been in Colombia for 20+ years. During the early years, they focused on building relationships with people by inviting them to our home for a meal. As the relationships grew, many received Christ as their Savior, and they began one-on-one discipleship with each person. Another way they met Colombians was by teaching English. Many of their students received Christ and are still a part of their church.

In 2007, they planted a small church called The Mission. God has brought many to help and serve as leaders in their children’s, youth, and music ministry. In 2017, Jimmy Castro, from Cali, became their national pastor. They are now part-time in Colombia and part-time taking care of their parents.

The Staffords are missionaries through Pioneers.

Open Hands Ministry

Their newest ministry came due to a great need during the COVID pandemic in Colombia. The country completely shut down for several months. Many in their church and other neighbors and friends lost their jobs and had no income or way to provide the basic needs for their families. They started Open Hands in March 2020 which provides basic food and necessities to those in need.

There is also have a very large Venezuelan community who have come to Colombia as refugees. They live on the streets or, if possible, in very humble apartments. Ron and Debbie have partnered with several pastors who minister to the refugees, and their Open Hand's ministry has been able to help many families each month. The Stafford's are so thankful for this ministry and for the many partners who make it possible each month.
