What is Trail Life?

What is Trail Life?

Trail Life USA is a Church-Based, Christ-Centered, Boy-Focused mentoring and discipleship journey that speaks to the heart of a boy. Established on timeless values derived from the Bible and set in the context of outdoor adventure, boys from kindergarten – 12th grade are engaged in a troop setting by male mentors where they are challenged to grow in character, understand their purpose, serve their community, and develop practical leadership skills to carry out the mission for which they were created.

Dad Involvement

Dad Involvement

Dads/guardians are strongly encouraged to attend troop meetings and help reinforce the lessons with their son at home. We want dads to engage with their son(s) and build upon their relationship during this time. Trail Life is not meant to be a drop‐off ministry.

We understand that some dads will be unable to attend all the Troop meetings due to other conflicts. Dads are not required to attend Troop meetings; however, it is strongly recommended for all Fox Trailmen to have a parent or guardian present at all meetings and events. All boys of the appropriate age are welcome to join the troop regardless of the presence/absence of a dad in the household.

When Does The Troop Meet?

When Does The Troop Meet?

Weekly Meetings
Mondays (1st, 2nd, 3rd), 6:30 – 8p

Troop meetings start with an opening prayer, the US pledge of allegiance, and the Trailman Oath. After announcements, the boys are broken into their groups to begin their sessions with FAITH, tying that night’s activities to God’s Word and how the lesson can be applied at home with the FAMILY. This is followed by a FOCUS time of learning (e.g. outdoors skills, life skills, etc.) and a FINGERS time that involves using our hands, typically related to the FOCUS lesson (e.g. building paper airplanes, survival bracelets, etc.). Then we let the boys release some energy by having a FUN time of physical activity.

Outings

There will be one planned outing each month (Monday meeting night or a Saturday). Most outings will be local/regional; however, some outings will be half‐day excursions a bit farther away.
